A compilation of varied sale notices from Goshen including glass show cases by The Newell Bros. Co at multiple lengths, pond swing and perch chairs, dairy cattle and hog stock sale, three Guernsey and Jersey heifers, well three cows, well located on Madison Street, and a $300 lot in the Purl Hope addition offered for $123 this month.
A Petrograd dispatch says Russia plans to re enter war with a large army. The Mos cow War Commission proposes universal military training for ages sixteen to forty and conscription of workers and peasants. Old specialists and top officers are recalled as ablest command is retained. The plan aims to build a large army within ten months. British American and Japanese observers attended the meeting. The slogan is a return to war as soon as possible.
Reports from Finland via Copenhagen claim no revolts in Petrograd and restoration of a Berlin-based monarchy, a French dispatch cautions officials to doubt the flare up. Allies' Stockholm reps and Moscow radios stay silent as Helsingfors notes pass without reference to any crisis.
London May 1 The Finnish white guards captured Viborg, 75 miles northwest of Petrograd. An official telegram from Copenhagen via the Exchange Telegraph says about 6,000 red guards were killed, their last breakout toward Predelksham repulsed.
Contracts for 3,500,000 pairs of metallic fastened field shoes for army overseas at about 7.75 per pair and 2,000,000 pairs of field welt shoes at 8.50 per pair announced. Dr Carlex Maria De Penn, minister from Uruguay, died in a Washington hospital.
