Death of Dr Bowell, Longtime Indiana Physician
Dr Bowen Combs Bowell aged 82 died at his LaPorte home. Native of Clark County born in 1820. He had an extensive practice and traveled nearly every county in Northern Indiana in his early years. He leaves a widow and four children.

Local Threshers Set Unified Grain Prices in Goshen
The Threshers National Protective Association met in Goshen and fixed grain prices: oats 2 cents per bushel, wheat and rye 3 cents, clover seed 65 cents. Prices were unanimously approved despite claims they would be high. J Clint Beck learns of a new postal assignment to trains 15 westbound and 32 eastbound newspaper run, after 16 years in service. The two new runs are described as the most desirable on the Lalse Shore.

The Country Club of St. Joseph Valley buys 65 acres east of Mishawaka along the St. Joseph river bend.
