Muskegon to house Jacob Wilkinson and Rosa Woodard amid adulterous ties while Elkhart warrants loom. Multiple divorces granted or continued including Sailor and Holtz cases as local judges hear contested estates, child custody, and public notices.
Mrs. Leroy J. Plummer of Fort Wayne, formerly of this city, plans to depart soon for New York to study art and music. She has a powerful soprano voice and has attracted offers from comic opera managers who heard her recently. She will probably stay in New York through the summer.
The LaPorte Herald links Charles Russell’s former partners still at large to a silk theft spree across LaPorte Valparaiso Michigan City South Bend Eckhart and Goshen. If accurate, suspects nicknamed Whitey Black and Little Joe would be implicated in freight cars banks and diamonds crimes.
The Central Union company raises telephone rates effective July 1 instead of April 1 due to many new phones. Manager W. E Branson said the date change was needed while keeping the quarterly rate at 1.50.

J B Rowell of Plymouth rents the east room of the March building on Washington street to launch a wholesale and retail tea and coffee venture. Rowell, once a traveling salesman, is a familiar figure in the city and expected to find success.
Mishawaka residents discuss a Civil War era inheritance involving two daughters of John St John. Scott H Bohrback of Eaton Rapids Michigan asked Governor Mount for information. The estate papers were found in the county records and two living heirs reside in Minnesota. A reply from Eaton Rapids is awaited as interest on $300 held for 15 years could mean a larger sum.

A Wawaka incident reports a school girl allowing several boys to take her dinner pail. They lathered bread with soap then she unknowingly ate it. The girl’s condition worsened and she is now judged past recovery.

A Manhattan club building near South Bend was completely burned last evening between 6 and 7 o clock. The loss is heavy. No injuries are reported. Fire crews battled the blaze through the night.
Doctors report steady improvement for Constantine Hines the Elkhart man stabbed by Supt. James Adams at Louden factory. If he continues to recover he may attend the April 9 preliminary trial. The Adams brothers remain silent while public opinion leans toward the defendants.
At the North Side corner of Third and Queen streets a family fired shots after spotting two men, believed burglars. It was later learned the men were Ernest Brady and Frank Spangler returning home from town and no intruders were found. Nash Grabill of Clinton township visited town and reported Cripe’s dog, once linked to rabies, has been killed. A dog at Fish Lake was bitten and authorities now report the mad dog was killed there.
Last night engineer Reniman and fireman Geo O Connell both of Garrett were killed in a B&O wreck near Chicago. The Garrett railroad community has suffered severely with nearly a dozen B&O employees killed in wrecks over the past year.
More than a hundred residents from Wabash county left yesterday by the Wabash Railroad for North Dakota. The annual spring exodus, now in its fifth year, saw the entire personal property of the emigrants loaded onto the same train. The settlers are largely Dunkards in faith.
About twenty five members of Cal anthe Lodge K of P will travel to Missh awak a tonight for the union meeting of the South Bend Misha wake Elkhart and Goshen lodges. The Goshen team will perform the work.

The Wabash city council approves an electric railway franchise for Pettit and partners on multiple streets as part of an interurban line between Wabash and Marion. A second franchise grants Wabash Valley Traction a route from Wabash to Peru with city service.
