Insurance Adjusted After American National Machine Works Fire
The fire loss on the American National Machine Works was settled yesterday. Owner Hubert A. Myers received 1406.67 for machinery and stock, with losses ranging from 1000 to 1500. William T. Monroe of Chicago got 221.59 for special machinery installed for voting machines. Christian Soens of South Bend, owner of the building, was paid 500, the full policy, on an estimated 1500 loss. Soens will not rebuild. Myers plans a cement block factory to fire proof the rebuilt site and reestablish business. Myers policies were with Fireman’s Fund of San Francisco and London Assurance, represented by George R. Harper. Soens’ policy was with National of Hartford.
