Supt. W Fillen Dies at Elkhart County Farm Infirmary
The Elkhart county poor farm superintendent Charles McFillen died at 10:25 p m Sunday at the Danlaps infirmary after a brief illness. Apoplexy is named as the cause though post mortem may be held. He was 48, born in Holmes County Ohio, served in Civil War Troop D U S Cavalry, and resided in Elkhart since 1871 except for three years in Yankton SD. Surviving wife and son Elmer of Elkhart. Funeral Wednesday at 10:30 a m Mennonite church east of Goshen. Burial there. Odd Fellows to handle service.
