In Indianapolis Charles Schur 26 pled guilty to stealing a $250 livery rig and drove it to South Bend. Miss Jennie Beaird seventeen year old mother, who bore a baby at Ora Glass home in Twin Lakes on February 11, arrived in Plymouth to testify at Ora Glass preliminary hearing. The hearing was postponed due to her condition but she has recovered. She testified Glass claimed he killed the baby and he was bound over to Marshall county circuit court without bail.
Mr and Mrs Fred Kurtz of Union township were returning from Sunday school when a frightened horse dashed away after passing an automobile driven by Ben and Henry Fisher three miles west of New Paris between John Cart and Warren Mishler homes. Mrs Kurtz sustained a broken arm and facial bruises. the baby and Mr Kurtz were unharmed. The buggy was demolished.
Rev W W Foust of the First Reformed Church preached a special sermon last night on What Has the Bible Done. Attendance was large.

William S Wise 50 a Goshen resident for about 40 years and a prominent cigar store operator died last evening at Goshen hospital after an operation for bowel trouble. He had continued his business until Friday, with health failing over seven weeks. Born November 26 1864 in Auburn Indiana he moved to Goshen in 1874. He helped start Wise Green cigar store and later ran Wise dedicated to retail and wholesale trade. Survived by wife Wilma Manahan and his parents. He was Elks treasurer and a Knights of Pythias member. Funeral Wednesday at 2 p.m. from his home with burial at Oak Ridge. Post mortem showed death from acute peritonitis due to fibrous stricture of the large pelvis.

Mrs Mary Bartlemay of 3148 Sixth Street marked her 77th birthday with her three sisters Mrs Rosina Hottinger and Misses Caroline and Margaret Wurster. All born in Go shen to pioneer John Wurster, their ages span 72 to 79, with birth dates from 1836 to 1848.
