Tragedies Hit Two Families at South Bend Crossing
Edward Barns of Newcastle died after being struck by a train at the lake Shore crossing in South Bend. His brother was killed at the same crossing about two years earlier. Eli Jones of South Bend, aged 15, perished last night when a barn caught fire and burned to the ground while he slept.
