Republicans Organize New City Committees and Officers
City central committee reorganized after a Republican meeting in the council chamber attended by about 100. E. E. Drake chaired the session. J. B. Gattechall was secretary. Precinct committeemen were named for ten districts. The committee then elected H. B. Kelly as chairman, Will H. Charnley as secretary, and L. B. Slaughter as treasurer. The only contest was for secretary, with Charnley 57 votes to Burris 48. The date for the city convention was not set.

Missing farmer with $5,000 on sale of farm
Henry Crysler, 40, a farmer from south of Sturgie near LaGrange, vanished a week after being summoned to Elkhart for his sick sister. He had sold his farm for $5,000 and planned to buy another. he disappeared on the return trip when the real estate deal was to be completed. Friends fear foul play or kidnapping as the money may have been stolen. He is described as of medium height with brown hair.

Kalamazoo woman attempts suicide in Fort Wayne house
Mrs Alvina C Linville formerly of Goshen and Elkhart moved to a vacant corner house at Ransom and Pitcher streets. She took morphine and whiskey Saturday evening but was saved by Dr John L Fletcher. She refused to explain the motive. Linville, a Napanee girl, previously faced arrest in Elkhart for silk theft from Warren Hill & Co. and her parents live there.
