Injured Lineman At Niles Burned By Spilled Vitriol
J. E Edwards of Wabash, a Big Four telegraph lineman, was seriously burned at Niles when carboys of vitriol spilled during transfer to Conn's horn factory at Elkhart. He fell, walked through the liquid, and flames burned his feet and elbows forcing a temporary quit from work. Sap and maple syrup growers report a poor season with little or no sap collected nationwide.
