Order Three Locomotives for Sandusky Portland Cement Co

Fatal Streetcar Death in South Bend Leaves Four Children Fatherless
Frank Smith a 34 year old boiler maker was killed when he stepped in front of a Michigan avenue street car in South Bend on Saturday afternoon. He was intoxicated and after leaving the car dodged into its path. His body was mangled. Surviving him are his wife and five children. The motorman was held blameless.

Susanna Shupert formerly lived in the county and came here from Prebla County Ohio at age 12 with her parents. She married Joseph Shupert who died in 1893. Her maiden name was Susanna Vance.
