The funeral for Shively will be held at the South Bend home this Saturday after services. The body of the senator is scheduled to leave Washington at 6 15 P M tomorrow for the interment and burial arrangements remain under family guidance.
Rev C A Lippencott of First Presbyterian Church South Bend will officiate the family service in Washington with plans for FULL DETAILS FOR SERVICES TO BE ANNOUNCED LATER.
Indianapolis March 15 Special Gov Ralston orders all state officers elective and appointive and members of boards to convene at his offices at 9 a m tomorrow to decide on action regarding the death of Senator Shively.
South Bend March 15 Special funeral services for Benjamin F Shively senior United States senator from Indiana who died in a Washington hospital will be held at the Shively home 402 North Michigan street Saturday at 2 pm Rev Charles A Lippencott will officiate Burial location not announced Full funeral details to be released tomorrow A funeral train will leave Washington tomorrow at 615 pm escort by a senate house committee The body will not be taken to Indianapolis as some had requested Immediate family are in Washington the senator's wife and daughter Mary were with him George Shively son and Indiana university graduate will leave Bloomington for Washington upon notice
Washington March 15 Special The Shively funeral escort lists Vice President Marshall appointing Senators Kern Smith Williams Clapp Johnson Kenyon Swanson James Sutherland Martine Phelan and Smith of Arizona as guard of honor. Speaker Clark named thirteen Indiana representatives and Reps Igoe Treadway Austin Lafean J M C Smith Dunn Tilson to attend for the house.
Born March 20 1857 in St Joseph County Indiana Shively taught school and farmed from 1874 to 1880 edited a county newspaper 1880 to 1883 elected to Congress in 1884 to fill Cal kin s unexpired term after Cal kin s resignation graduated from Michigan University law school in 1886 reelected in 1886 1888 and 1890 married Emma Taurh Jenks of Brookville Pa June 19 1889 refused nomination for vice presidency in 1800 practiced law in South Bend until 1900

Remains may be viewed tomorrow 2 to 4 p m at the home with funeral arrangements to be announced.

At a meeting in the council chamber S. F. Spohn of Goshen was elected governor to succeed himself and Melvin Rohrer of New Paris was chosen governor to succeed E. L. Arnold of Elkhart. The board of governors, two from each county, will meet at Marion next Tuesday.
E J Stanton aged 48 dies in Flint Michigan from Brights disease. He once managed the Vaudette theatre in Goshen and years ago worked in Michigan City where he reportedly earned money in the moving picture business.

Louisa Shoup widow of Noah Shoup dies at 1615 South Main street after three weeks illness. She lived in the county all her life, mostly on a Goshen farm, and recently with her son Roy A. Shoup. Survived by son two sisters and two brothers. Funeral Friday at 2 PM at First Reformed church with Rev. W. W. Foust officiating. Burial in Violett cemetery. Noah Shoup died 18 years ago last June.
