The 11 day circuit court grand jury adjourned subject to call with 14 indictments returned. Joseph Harker, under bond since 1990 for illegal voting, was not indicted amid claims of political influence. Guardian petition for Mary C. Yoder and multiple marriage licenses are noted.
John C. Miler of North Clinton ships goods to Oklahoma and will reside there again, having lived in the state before. Jacob Hershberger to move into Miller’s vacated Clinton township farm as local relocations continue.
Junk shop burglary reported at Blumberg Tobias corner Main and Madison with hides sheep skins calf skins and rubber stolen. Night Officer Maloney pursued a suspect on Lake Shore train No 37 but the thief escaped. Grand jury investigates and reportedly indicts a lone suspect. Also reports of a pocketbook loss a coroner update on a death and a bank reserve note from Niles Michigan.
Attorney John Monechien of Elk hart, famed in Goshen, suffered heart failure on Main street in Elkhart last night. He was taken home by hack and is said to be improved today. No Goshen street paving is planned for this summer due to many proposed improvements. Mr. and Mrs. Kellett, who visited Middlebury, will move there as he takes a timer job with Wise Verne, hardware merchants.
Judges W A Woods John H Baker and Francia E Baker attended a meeting in Indianapolis yesterday to set up committees for the Harrison funeral. Stuart Robson will appear at the Irwin on Thursday evening March 21 in a grand revival of She Stoops to Conquer. The piece is considered his strongest work and Tony Lumpkin is the central role. Robson’s carefully chosen cast includes John B. Henshaw Brinsley Shaw H A Weaver Jr Eleanor Barry Ellen Mortimer and May Ten Broeck.
Comedian John E. Henshaw, famed for dimples and a strong stage presence, appears as young Marlowe with Stuart Robson in She Stoops to Conquer at the Irwin this Thursday March 21. He has long been a leading talent and draws lively audiences.
