Train delays on freight track disrupt eastbound service
Over Freight Track Eastbound Lake Shore passenger train No 16 was run over the third track from Elkhart to Goshen yesterday afternoon to give the Century, which was late, the right of way. The flyer went through Goshen at a sixty mile an hour clip.

Will Pickrell purchases the Middlebury hotel from Morris Page for 3000 dollars. Page had acquired it from Henry Bockus who built the building and ran the hostelry for 25 years. Page improved the property and will hand it over in good condition before taking charge next week. Pickrell, a lifelong farmer and son of the late John Pickrell, is expected to be a popular hotel keeper. A village wag quips that his height will let him knock on second story doors without stairs.
