From El Pardo Cebu P L dated January 9 1900 Harry Miller of Company M 23rd U S reports constant movement and brief stays with combat in earnest. He recalls an advance guard being fired on losing an officer to a gunshot and two days of mountain pursuit while three bullets pierced his hat.
