Charles Clawson about 40, of Ligonier, employed by Sanders & Egbert Co. of Goshen, was killed when a falling limb struck him after a tree was cut two miles east of Millersburg. Coroner Eisenbein and Dr. H M Hall investigated. widow and several children survive. Funeral plans not yet set.

Man from Dewey saloon presumed missing then found dead
George Howe, a 50 plus year old man with pneumonia and delirium tremens, was taken from the Dewey saloon in Mishawaka to the St. Joseph County Poor House. He escaped at dusk Thursday and was not found until authorities located his body two miles west of Mishawaka, believed to have frozen to death after wandering away.
