Gov. Marshall planned to sign many measures as new Indiana laws take effect. The session cost about 126000 dollars, lower than 139000 in 1909. Bills include tax, education, safety, and administrative reforms, plus a failed foreign corporation and recall effort.
Governor Marshall announced he will consider only bills sent today for approval and has not yet decided on the child labor bill as the Sixty-seventh general assembly nears adjournment at midnight.
Washington March 6 A reform urged for the next congress session would establish a Children’s Bureau in the Department of Commerce and Labor to advance social betterment. Representative Barnhart announced his support for the plan, which has backing from workers nationwide.
Washington expects a suit targeting the Proctor law to begin its route to the Indiana supreme court as twenty five individual remonstrances are filed with the commissioners protesting the granting of liens. Additional protests from other units total four.

Noah Cripe longtime county resident died Sunday night at 7 30 at his home north of the city. He was 78 and had suffered with Brights disease for years but was bedbound only recently. Born in Clinton township he spent his life in the county and was a son of early settler Samuel Cripe. He married Rebecca Baker fifty eight years ago and is survived by his wife ten children 38 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren two brothers and four sisters. Funeral at West Goshen German Baptist church tomorrow at 10 30 a m with friends calling at the residence at 9 80 a m Interment in West Goshen cemetery.
The county council discusses overruns on the Bristol bridge over the St Joe River. A floorless design prompts requests for a concrete floor or a threodone option at additional costs. Promoter BH Atkins outlined a $125000 build cost with $85000 secured by Bristol and the remainder to be raised in Constantine Three Rivers Vicksburg and Schoolcraft. Local promoters expect substantial funding from Three Rivers.
Charles W. Anglin son of D H Anglin of Nappanee and lawyer J O Kantz examined a document mailed to The Democrat claiming to be the will of D H Anglin The son said the writing is not his father's and the paper is a fake The genuine will has never been located and no will was found in town.
Mrs Ellen Wade Colfax aged 74 and widow of Schuyler Colfax once vice president of the United States died at the Colfax homestead in South Bend on Saturday the 42d anniversary of her husband's elevation. A son Schuyler Colfax of Rochester N Y survives. Funeral services were held this afternoon and the body placed beside her husband in South Bend City Cemetery. Schuyler Colfax died Jan 13 1885.
Otis C Butt partners with George Xanders in Syracuse to form Butt and Xanders. Xanders, 28, from Columbus Nebraska, has lived at Vawter Park for a year and worked for Northern Indiana Improvement Co. He graduated from Michigan Law School and was admitted to Kosciusko County bar about a year ago.
Senator Fleming of Fort Wayne gave an elaborate dinner at the Claypool hotel in Indianapolis honoring twenty two newspaper men who have reported on the legislature proceedings.
In a rapid alighting from an interurban car in Elkhart two Bristol youths Robert Nicholson and Byron Ganger suffered severe bruises and will be laid up for several days.

Emmert of Menomonie Wisconsin Ephraim Emmert Benton township and Jacob Yoder of Nappanee. Funeral at Union Center church Wednesday 11 am with friends visit 8 am at Benton home. Interment Union Center Cemetery.
