Two ex Goshen residents Dr. W. H. Nusbaum of Auburn and Congressman Joel P. Heatwole of Minnesota profited from a Missouri zinc and lead ore discovery near Joplin after buying 20 acres a year ago. They may accept a $100,000 offer or retain the property. The Puritan prohibition state committee plans its May 1 and 2 convention at Plymouth Church with an oratorical contest for a diamond medal on May 1 followed by a mass meeting with Nations Chairman Stewart and Evangelist Quincy Lee Morrow. Dog loses tail length on Lake Shore tracks incident

Quarrel on North Fifth Street Ends in Near Violence
Two residents on North Fifth street fought Saturday night and would have led to serious harm had Officer Vesey not intervened. The scene was disgraceful and noisy. A. E. Matthews, station agent at Fairland near Niles, riding a railroad velocipede, was struck by a Big Four train and killed.

Obituary of Mrs Nancy Graham in Benton
Mrs Nancy Graham age about 52 wife of Thomas Graham died at her Benton home yesterday at 8 15 am after a brief illness. Born November 20 1847 she married Thomas Graham March 1 1866. She is survived by her husband and four children. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 am at the M E Church.
Bigamist Farnsworth Sentenced in Chicago Court
In Judge Bakers court in Chicago on Saturday W L Farnsworth was sentenced to the penitentiary. He had selected Mrs Callie Pippenger of Nappanee as one of his many wives and his motion for a new trial was overruled. He claims matrimonial journal advertisements entrap both sexes and should have confined his attention to one woman at a time.
Death of Dr C C Matthews in Milord
Dr C C Matthews died at his Milord home at 11 28 a m Sunday from a complication of diseases after a lengthy illness. He was a highly respected local citizen. The funeral is set for Wednesday forenoon at 11 o clock.

Mrs Knapp Breaks Leg After Church Fall In North Side
While returning home from church Mrs J W Knapp of the North Side fell in front of Edgar Vesey's residence and broke her left leg above the ankle. Dr D L Miller attended and said she will be confined to home for several weeks due to the painful accident.
