Talbot Sentenced Owl Leader Sent To Leavenworth Prison
John W. Talbot supreme head of the Order of Owls, under a five year sentence for violating the Mann White Act, began his transport to Leavenworth Kansas via Indianapolis with United States Marshal Linus P. Meredith and Deputy Oscar Johnson. He left Indianapolis after unsuccessfully appealing to higher courts. The party was to arrive in Leavenworth the next morning.
