Geographic tariff cuts reduce lumber rates west of Missouri
Washington reports sweeping lumber rate cuts and changes ordered by the Interstate Commerce Commission. Geographic decisions roll back west coast rates toward coast-to-east markets, with notable $1.60 per ton reductions and several 20 to 25 percent edits from Pacific coast territories to eastern points. Two commissioners dissented on major advances deemed mostly reasonable.
