The National Museum of Archaeology History and Ethnology in Mexico grew from a neglected early collection into a major institution. Under leaders like Lic Genaro Garcia it expanded to about 70 000 objects, split into six departments, with new buildings, extensive publications, and a refined library system guiding researchers and tourists through halls named for Aztec Toltec Tarasco and other civilizations.
Governor James H. Gillett said he would not interfere with the July 4 world championship fight between James J. Jeffries and Jack Johnson as long as it remains within the law. Right Hon. James Bryce an ambassador from Great Britain to Washington has asked to be relieved from duty. The death of King Edward is said to have crushed him and he fears he cannot endure the strain under the new regime. Bryce is highly regarded and loyal to diplomatic decorum. He recently spoke at the University of Kansas in Lawrence and declined to compare British and American universities.
