Joseph Powles aged 16 longtime resident of the city died last night at 313 Dewer avenue after a six month stomach illness. He served in Co F 138 Illinois Infantry in the Civil War and lived in Elkhart county after the war. Surviving are his wife Lucinda two sons John and Charles four brothers and four grandchildren. Funeral at West Side church Sunday at 10:30 AM with services at the residence at 10 AM. Interment in West Side cemetery.
