The Essig reunion was held yesterday at the farm home of Lee Cassler between Goshen and Elkhart with about 150 attendees. Henry Essig chaired. Rev. Parker offered prayer. Emma Stutsman and Amasa Stutsman reported on finances and secretary work. several Stutsman and Cassler family members performed in the program. Deaths this year included John L. Essig and Maria Trump among others. since 1897, 65 Essig deaths noted with several aged 80 plus and one fatality in the Chicago fire. Wesley Wyland of Chicago known as Wes Wyland by Milford residents died while on duty in Milford. He sat with a coworker in an engine room on Sunday and, after saying he liked his job but must work on Sunday, he stepped to add coal and died before help could reach him. He was brought to Milford Tuesday to his uncle Wesley Pinkerton’s home and the funeral was held at the M E church at 2 p m conducted by Rev Bailey.
