The Goshen city council re elected William H. Charnley Republican to the board of education for a three year term effective August 1. The vote was four to three with nominations from Sol Dembufsky Democrat and Charnley. Several utility and street projects were discussed including opening Eighth street to the Lake Shore right of way to aid Goshen factories.

Conductor Elmer Steele of the Northern Indiana railway blamed for a collision when a South Bend street car on the St Marys line was struck by an interurban on the Niles road 800 feet north of St Marys crossing. The switch was not thrown and about $200 in damage occurred. The 6 o'clock South Bend to Goshen car was annulled.

Homer F. Roth who fled from his father while traveling from South Bend to Elkhart remains uncaptured in Chicago. He registered at the Kaiserhof hotel and left without paying. Roth's wife and one child stay with his father in Sugar Grove. A storm bolt hit a telephone pole in front of Frank Crawford’s residence south of Stroh. The current melted the wire, burned the telephone, and crossed the porch striking Virgil Crawford in the hip, rendering her unconscious for hours. Mr Crawford was shocked but saved by rubber boots.

Severe Storm Tops City with Hail and Trolley Wreckage
