About 150 Stiver descendants gathered last Saturday at the Chauncey Long home on the Joseph Stiver homestead in Benton Township. A program of speeches songs recitations and music featured the event with the Millersburg band performing. The reunion traced roots to early 1830s settlers Valentine Fred and John Stiver and noted many descendants still live in the area. Distant attendees came from St Paul Minn San Lucas Cal Hartford City and Chicago among others. The four daughters of pioneer Frederick Stiver were present their ages totaling 314 years.
