He then went to Goshen, secured a marriage license, and married Elzina Stump with Justice Young officiating, amid a curious crowd. Intoxicated man fights on train and two run for judge
Charles Martin a drunken local, attempted to board the No. 23 southbound Big Four train with a companion. He fought Conductor Captain Boughter on the front platform and was knocked to the brick pavement after slipping from the car. Fireman Clawson assisted as passengers watched. Martin’s face bled and hands were scraped as bystanders pulled him from the tracks. Separately, Republicans held another conference over the judicial race. Vail and Chamberlain will remain in the contest to block H C Dodge from nomination, with Dodge gaining strength and more meetings expected before next week.
