David Darr Dies Suddenly An Old Elkhart County Pioneer
David Darr 83 longtime Elkhart County pioneer died suddenly of heart disease at his Goshen home 311 North Main. Born March 7 1819 in Piqua Ohio he came to Elkhart County in 1837 and later mined in California in 1849. He lived in Goshen since 1887 served as court house janitor for one year and belonged to the Masonic lodge. He is survived by his wife seven children and will be buried at Oak Ridge with Masonic rites Friday at 10 AM.

A 150 diamond ring owned by Mrs George S Phillips of Pittsburg Pa is missing during her visit to her parents on Sixth street. It was first missed Monday morning and a search including plumbers digging up a sewer line failed to locate it. The ring valued at 4150 is believed lost or stolen.

Attempted Murder in Plymouth: Baird shoots at Miss Davis
Early Monday night in Plymouth the man Baird from Bourbon shot four times at Miss Lizzie Davis after mistaking her for Miss Eureka Lane. Two bullets struck her, one in the breast and one in the arm, and she is 20 years old with severe wounds and slim recovery chances. Baird, about 30, fled, then surrendered to authorities.

Boy Injured After Fall From Porch On Washington Street
Joseph Delcamp, son of Mr and Mrs Edward Delcamp who live above Perfection Bakery, fell from a porch at A Defrees home on Washington street and struck his head on a gas pipe. He fainted and was unconscious for several minutes and was taken home by companions. Dr C L Dreese dressed the injury and he is resting better today.
