Dirigible Crash Kills Eleven in Chicago Bank Roof
A large dirigible exploded and crashed into the Illinois Trust and Savings Bank on Lasalle Street and Jackson Boulevard injuring 26 and killing eleven. Among the dead is Earl Davenport formerly of Warsaw Indiana Publicity Agent for White City amusement company. Davenport boarded the craft at Grant Park shortly before the accident. He was a son of Dr. T Davenport of Warsaw and had two sisters living in Chicago and Warsaw. Investigators are pursuing the causes of the crash as the scene is surveyed and the dead identified.
