Bremen beat Goshen High School 2 to 1 at Tonawanda Park in what spectators called the best game of the season. Pitcher M Carbiener limited Goshen to three hits while Joe Pulse struck out 16 for Goshen. Battery errors and a passed ball by Helminger early terms kept Bremen ahead 2 0 after eight, with Goshen scoring in the ninth on Pulse's walk and a wild throw. Attendance about 225.

Scott-Warren, sixteen, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Scott, died at 3 PM yesterday at home after a two week illness. He leaves parents, two sisters Elva Garber and Abbie Scott, and brother L. G. Scott, a U S railway mail clerk. He was set to enter Goshen high school this fall after grammar school with high grades. Funeral at 10 AM Sunday from Silver street church.

Wilson's Pardon Sought for Involuntary Manslaughter Case
Charles W. Miller James Dodge and Harry Wilson's father, from Bristol Elkhart county, petitioned the Governor for clemency yesterday. The incident stemmed from a quarrel with rival liveryman Richard Sherwin three years ago, where a boyhood dispute led to a fatal blow. Wilson was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced from two to twenty-one years.

Lightning hit a LaGrange county barn owned by John Seaburn, burning the structure to ash. About 70 bushels of wheat, 14 tons of hay, and 17 home were lost. Insurance coverage was 1400, with 900 loss settled. Henry Cramer of Elkhart injured at local street car depot after a horse kick. A local surgeon sealed the wound with two stitches. Elk Hart band Conn s Trumpet Notes gave an open air concert on Main Street at Lincoln Avenue last night to promote a Modern Samaritan excursion to Diamond Lake. Hobart A. Davis encore performance pushed audience response. Barney Young conducted and Chester Lease of Goshen played clarinet as about 100 Samaritans arrived by two interurban cars and returned about 10 PM.

Leo Magers Close Call at Dock Siding
Engineer Leo Mager on the 2034 had a close call Monday morning while pulling an extra west at Dock Siding. He was struck in the eye by a missile and rendered unconscious. A mile and a half west at Miller's the engine derailed and overturned, carrying three cars. Mager recovered and escaped with the crew. no serious injuries. Mager was son of the late Anton Mager, former Goshen ice man.
