Miss Cora Heiple aged about 22 daughter of Conrad Heiple a farmer near Wakarusa hanged herself in her father's barn after prolonged illness and despondency. Neighbors found her sister and father soon after and she was pronounced dead from strangulation. Funeral planned at the Christian church in Wakarusa with burial at North Union.

Girl hero rescues four boys at Wawasee lake
Tuesday afternoon around 3 o clock a sailboat owned by A M Jones capsized near Jones Landing at Wawasee. Four Marion boys, all unable to swim, were tossed into the water. Miss Bonnie Zimmerman of Ligonier, an expert swimmer, swam to their aid and saved them. Her brave rescue drew wide praise from witnesses. Miss Zimmerman is described as a niece of Mrs. Frank Prough of Goshen.
