A J Stahl of LaPorte arrives in Goshen to revive the municipal heating plant plan with Wilber L Stonex. The scheme, once fought and postponed to Aug 1, 1903, hinges on the new council and public sentiment amid Goshen’s tight finances.
A telegraph update reveals Frank Case did not die in Colorado. The 67 year old former Goshen city band member and carriage trimmer died from pneumonia on July 4 in Breckenridge Colorado. He was brother to Ford Case of Elkhart and had no known family or means. Frank Case was last heard from in 1894.
A Lake Wawasee steamer the American Girl struck a landing pier at Morgan's cottage yesterday around 4 pm. Passengers from Goshen including Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vallance and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Bert I. Smith, Mrs. Bunyao, and Miss Morgan fell into the water but were not seriously hurt. The steamer suffered no damage.

Prof Edgar C Hinkle resigns from Goshen High to teach at Wives Minnesota high school for higher pay. He and Mrs Hinkle move to Logansport and plan to go to Winona in mid August. Charles G Hodson, a veteran South Bend manufacturer, dies by suicide at 72 after repeated personal and financial crises.
