Nathan Manrow of the Manrow Cornice Works survived a frightful horse accident while driving home from Wakarusa. His reins tangled, he was dragged about 25 feet. he endured swelling and scratches but no broken bones. Dr D L Miller treated him at home. the horse was uninjured. John B F Woods, a travelling junk dealer, suffered severe injuries after an fall at Whitaker feed yards and was taken to the county asylum for examination with possible operation. Frank Sommers, a well known South Bend resident, died after attempting to alight a moving Chapin streetcar on Prairie avenue. A gust blew his hat off, he jumped off backwards about five feet, struck his shoulder and head, and died within minutes from the nervous shock.

In Logansport yesterday silk worth 2000 dollars was stolen from Schmidt and Heintz's store by burglars linked to a prior Hawks store robbery. A telescope grip and a spring-lock rear door clue suggest expert thieves used a hidden entry while locking the shop behind them. Ferris Naif, a Fort Wayne peddler, reports his horse ran away three times today with a minor collision at Smith's boarding house porch.

New York Law Limits Rail Engines to Forty Cars
