The Goshen Fourth of July program ran on schedule with ovations parades races and a balloon ascent. Up to 20 thousand people attended from Goshen county and towns along the Big Four and Lake Shore rail lines. The day featured bands parades a city race program and a royal floral carriage pageant with awards and a Notre Dame professor as orator.

Constable Shutz brought a stranger from Syracuse to Bristol who claimed to be John Leamy. He talked of a man named George killing his wife, resisted confinement, showed a union card, and faced possible indefinite detention with heat possibly affecting him. Leamy had prior jail history. he will be held.

Two Victories for Goshen Over Englewood in Tonawanda Doubleheader
Goshen swept a two game set at Tonawanda park with 4 0 first game and 9 3 in the afternoon. Pulse excelled for Goshen and pitched superbly while Englewood failed to score until the sixth inning in the second game. Gate receipts neared 150 dollars and Napranee band played. A lamp tipped by a dog at George Walmer’s Okala homa Hill home started a small fire damaging furnishings. a lounge was destroyed and logs were insured for 100 dollars. Meanwhile Horace Breiding and Mabel Vesey wed at the groom’s parents’ home Thursday night with Rev. Rench officiating. they plan to reside locally.
