Prof Butler of Chicago University examined Goshen public schools to gauge if graduates can enter the university without extra tests. He will report to the faculty next Saturday and praised the Goshen schools, predicting placement on the cooperative list. Pooley Survives Illinois Rail Crash Near Mexico
William E Pooley arrived for his mother’s funeral when a Chicago and Alton train derailed near Mexico Missouri after a broken rail. Several passengers were injured including Pooley with minor muscle and hip injuries as the coach overturned but authorities say the wreck could have been far worse.

Deray Horse Killed After Leg Break on Main and Jackson
A valuable horse owned by A. E. Keith and attached to the Keith dray line fell at noon at Main and Jackson, breaking its leg. Peter Overholt supervised its care, the animal was chloroformed and euthanized. Several other horses slipped in the pavement today with no serious injuries reported.

Unoccupied buggy leads to Goshen stop near station
J C Bontrager and Mr Cripe of near Middlebury arrive in Goshen on East Lincoln avenue. Edward Overlease questions them about a horse and buggy behind the unoccupied rig. Stranger Falls From Moving Car At Local Station
An intoxicated stranger fell from the steps of an interurban car as it left the local station at 430 o clock Saturday afternoon. He sustained serious head and shoulder injuries. The accident occurred just east of Dunlaps. G N Hobart dies at Soldiers Home Milwaukee. He was the sole survivor of Libby prison escapees during the Civil War.
