A Red Cross nurse aided the family and a physician arrived too late. Funeral services were held for Chauncey and Elsie, with Maury’s service held the following day.
Washington January 25 A House vote of 211 to 10 approved a bill raising the base pay of enlisted men in the Navy and Marine Corps except recruits. The pay hike is retroactive to last year and runs until June 1, 1927.
Martin Maloney has filed suit in the circuit court for divorce from Libbie Matoney citing cruel and inhuman treatment. The couple married September 15 1918 and separated November 1916. Libbie Schoonover is the defendant's maiden name.

William Miner of Warsaw, saw mill owner, purchased 90 acres of virgin oak timber on the Carpenter farm near Atwood for 17000 dollars at a public auction. An estimated 750000 feet of timber is contained on the tract.
