Moses Bartholomew of Jefferson township died Sunday afternoon. Born December 24, 1824 in Union County Ohio, he lived in Kalamazoo and Elkhart counties before settling on his Jefferson farm for 32 years. Survived by four children and a grandchild, he was a devout Christian and lifelong Democrat.

Union man Julius Gardner veteran veterinary surgeon dies
Julius Morgan Gardner aged about 66 died at 7 20 Sunday morning at his Union Michigan home after a brief illness and a stroke. Born in Collinwood Ohio he moved to Cass county at age two and lived there 64 years. He was a widely known veterinary surgeon.
