Death of Claude Mentzer in Warsaw at 24
Claude Mentzer died suddenly at Warsaw at 6 o clock from diabetes. A Goshen native and Elks member, he had worked in Warsaw for Hubert A Myers Mfg Co and in Goshen for Louie Simon & Co. Forged Check Linked to Warsaw Man and Collins
A $15 check cashed a week ago by Charles Nye of Warsaw is a forgery. A young man using the name D E Collins, claiming work at Harry A Butterfield construction camp on the Winona trac tion line west of Warsaw, passed the check after a $2 purchase. The check drawn on First National Bank of Goshen appeared good and was not questioned until returned to Butterfield. Police seek Collins as the suspect in the Go shen bank forgery case.
