Roy Glindaniel must serve an indeterminate sentence from one to twenty one years at the Jeffersonville reformatory. A motion for a new trial in his case was overruled, with Sheriff Elliott to transport him next Monday.
In spring F W B Minnich will start building twenty three dwellings on his lot in the Anderson factory district valued as strategic property. Gray planning a rear lot livery stable with limited turnout. W G Smith injured by a nail in Goshen factory, left foot. Knights of Pythias from Goshen to attend district meeting at Plymouth covering Elkhart Stark Marshall LaPorte and St Joseph counties.
In iNappanee Advance news, Arthur Holdeman accidentally touched a band saw at the furniture factory on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of the first finger on his right hand at the first joint.

Samuel Motto a furniture repairer of 118 Mercer Avenue North Side was kicked by a horse and suffered a broken leg near the ankle. His son Sylvanus escaped serious injury as they loaded furniture onto a wagon when the horse became unmanageable. Motto was taken to E ser Becknell hospital, where the fracture was reduced and his condition remains painful but satisfactory to doctors.
Authorities in St Joseph Michigan report Charles Bartram of Joshen the larger confessed to crimes linked to a forged check used to burn a $14 overcoat paid by a forged check. He admitted selling the coat to William Brown a second hand dealer for 280 dollars. Elkhart police recovered the coat yesterday. The Elkhart Review suspects Bartram’s scope may be wider than disclosed.
Lydia Bartmes aged sixty eight died of typhoid fever yesterday at her daughter Mrs. Harvey Myers home four and a half miles southeast of Cro sden. She leaves two daughters and two sons and eight brothers. Funeral from West Side Baptist church Thursday at 10 40 a.m.
Incidental to a new passenger depot project at Elkhart, the Lake Shore intends extensive yard improvements to expand facilities. The unimproved tract southeast of the Tenth street crossing will be filled with tracks and related work. A fence would close the yards to pedestrians, addressing safety worries from past deaths.
Joseph Farrell, Waterford schoolteacher, fell while using crutches on the walk to feed his horse, breaking a crutch and suffering a severe shock. His wife fell while rushing out but avoided serious injury, and Hon. Geo. W. Farrell noted carelessness as a factor before recovering downtown later.
Albert L. Hodge a 67 year old colored burglar was wounded after a confrontation at Mrs Nathan Cole mans home near Kalamszoo. Sheriff Snow and two deputies surrounded the house and fourteen shots were exchanged. Hodge was captured and jailed. Deputy Clark avoided injury by taking cover behind a tree while Hodge fired five bullets into it. Hodge a Civil War veteran was seriously wounded and imprisoned.
R F Patrick of Adrian Ohio a well known resident of Aicshen died recently from injuries after a fall down stairs He was a Civil War veteran The remains will be taken to Clyde Ohio for interment Charles Parker received the news this morning.
The Paris Beacon notes Rev. Dr Arthur Crane, the noted evangelist, is preaching at the First Baptist Church each evening and lecturing afternoons. He addressed High School pupils last Monday on Elements of Daniel's Greatness and will conduct services in our city next week at the Baptist church.
