Mrs Floret V Petersohn files for divorce from John Petersohn claiming abandonment by him and neglect of wife and child. She seeks custody of their 2 year old daughter Anna Catherine and alimony of 1000 dollars. The complaint notes his dog breeding at home and alleged cruelty.
Joseph Mek, a fourth ward Republican worker, goes to Indianapolis as assistant clerk in the house for 30 days at four dollars a day. Representative Mummert, backed by Warfizet and other lawmakers, secured the position after Dudley Fitch’s reported plum fell through. The assembly plans double patronage and half-time duties amid a busy office-seeker era.
Juday Adam Juday aged 65 died Thursday at home in Syracuse from a stroke. He previously lived near Solomon's Creek before moving to Syracuse five years ago. He is survived by his wife and a son James. Funeral from home at 10 o clock tomorrow.
Rumors claim Clerk Wolfe was 1.2 short in his accounts. The finance and claims committee members Messie Garvin Charlton and Stoutenour audit the clerk’s books but will not reveal findings. No expert accountants are used and the committee’s report is awaited.

The denial harms Blodgett’s reputation as a reliable writer. Separately John BR Snyder of South Bend drowned after falling into an ice airhole on Koontz lake during a blinding snowstorm while attempting to reach shore.
H. S. Kessler of the north side today brought to market an April pig weighing 318 pounds dressed. Kessler is noted for his interest in swine breeding.
Peter H. Fetters stays on his farm south of Goshen to observe the 38th anniversary of his birth. Gov. Nash's requisition for Marvin Kuhns is declared illegal and will be recalled. Kuhns remains in Noble county. William Eckert to lead pulpit duties at First English Lutheran Church as Rev. A C Anda travels to South Bend to install officers and administer communion at the Holy Trinity Bogliab Lutheran Church.
The Elkhart circuit court precedent of dismissing employees for political reasons prompts calls to apply the Andrew Jackson theory across offices. Judge Ferrall removed Bailiff Krutz for political affiliation, with Republicans holding posts at the water station and schools. Advocates urge removals of similar Democratic or Republican staff, arguing political affiliation warrants action even without charges.
A letter from John P. Dickinson of Chicago describes his boyhood friendship with the reader's father, recalling meeting at Melvin B. Hascall's school and speculating a winter of 1842-43 as the year. Burglars attempted a Walkerton post office robbery on Wednesday night and fled after breaking the back door glass. Tools were left behind as they escaped, preventing the crime from succeeding.
