The Elkhart county murder trial of Fuller nears verdict as jurors plan to retire after a week of testimony and extended arguments. Prosecution and defense wrapped up lengthy presentations with witnesses and rebuttal, while observers expect a strong circumstantial case and await the jury's fate.
Minnie Miller sues Fred W. Lambka for $1000 damages alleging breach of marriage contract after plans to wed in September shifted to January and then were canceled. Miller invested about $200 in a wedding dress and other preparations. The county recorder also receives plat filing for McNaughton addition in Elkhart, formerly Riverside Park, describing 23 building lots.
Mortuary notice records the death of Lizzie Bush formerly of Middlebury who died Friday at her home near Mottville at age sixteen. Funeral held yesterday at Pleasant Valley German Baptist church north of Middlebury with Elder J H Fike officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Valley cemetery.
Goshen dispatch and other papers claimed D A Sanders H M Sanders G W Hay Haines and John Egbert planned a stock company to rebuild the Jefferson site. Haines and Egbert deny intent to join. No definite action by Sanders Hay Neidig company has been taken for Jefferson site improvement.
About 40 physicians attended the Tri State Medical society gathering in the Century Club building Elkhart with strong interurban city representation. Attendance is expected to reach 60 by this evening. A banquet is planned for 6 30 tonight.
Charles Zink a wagon maker in Huntington received an old Bible from Eslinger Württemberg Germany. Printed in 1700, it records family history back to 1655 and is valued as a precious family record. Thunder storms last night caused severe lightning and heavy rain. Dr. A Edmands traveled to Elkhart.
City council met with Mayor Kohler presiding and approved 1907 appropriations across departments including streets sidewalks and drainage. Purl street paving from Main to Tenth was authorized with brick and concrete curb, while a Go shen South Bend Chicago railway franchise was referred to committee for details. Mrs. Doc Hayden, east of town and former Mrs. Perry Davis, was robbed of a handbag in the courthouse crowd this morning. The bag contained a $100 check and $2.25 in cash. Deputy Sheriff Chatten investigated but no clue was found as the crush made identification difficult. The incident occurred as farmers and others pressed to enter the courtroom for the Fuller wife murder case proceedings.
A supplementary farmers' institute for the southwest county portion will be held in Nappanee next Friday and Saturday. A fine program is prepared and a profitable meeting is anticipated as progressive farmers join to further agricultural advancement.

Fruit growers near Benton Harbor fear warm wet weather will swell peach buds, risking damage if a subsequent freeze occurs. The region worries that current conditions could devastate the crop this season.
The Highland Park at Elk Hart has officially changed to McNaughton Park. The entire tract within the park was replatted and the new plat was filed with the recorder yesterday by C. E. Bickel, secretary of the Elkhart Real Estate Association.
Frank C. Lynch, a popular former druggist of Warsaw, dies at age 29. He is survived by his wife, the daughter of attorney J D Widaman, and a three year old child.

Rev Allen R Bemenderfer of Ashland Ohio and Charles H Bemenderfer of Kalamazoo Mich here for the funeral of Mrs Henry Bemenderfer. Rev A C Anda who has been guest of Goshen friends returned to Chicago this morn. Mrs Anda and daughter Harriet will remain a while longer. Mr and Mrs A F Meinert and Rev Co EB Cressler went to Silver Lake with remains of Mrs Meinert's mother Mrs Herendeen for burial. Rev Cressler conducted the service. Payments due by May first or one half by May first with penalties for delinquency. delinquent taxes incur 10 percent penalty and costs. Owner on April first bears the tax for that year.
