Johnny Miller of Middlebury township was arraigned on assault and battery after an insanity finding. Judge Pruke imposed the maximum six months at the state penal farm and a $25 fine. Mrs Miller wept in court as he was led away, then kissed her goodbye.

Hollenga of Fayetteville N Y spoke at a Goshen Chamber smoker last fall and is a candidate for secretary of the new Elkhart Chamber. H V D King Goshen chamber secretary met Hollenga in Elkhart, noting Hollenga succeeded the Fayetteville chamber as secretary.
Indianapolis January 2 A Sallee chairman of the democratic state committee said both the men’s and women’s committees will gather January 15 to perfect plans for the coming campaign. A state secretary to succeed Sallee has been selected others named in connection with the position.
Mrs. Jefferson Storey aged 75 from north of Bristol died in Ozona Florida of heart ailment while on a motor trip with her son Perry Storey of near Vandalia Michigan. She had been in poor health and was fatally stricken shortly after arriving.
Allen county loses its agricultural agent as H R Smalley resigns and departs for Kansas City Missouri to join the soil improvement committee of the National Fertilizer Association. The move leaves the county temporarily without an agent.

Frank Flowers, 19, interurban agent, confessed to stealing about $300 from the local interurban station cash box at 6:20 this morning. Flowers led officers to the money hidden near a platform. James Young, initially suspected, was released after only $10 was found on him.
A Ford milk truck owned and driven by Homer Stahley was struck at the Ninth street crossing of the New York Central by the backing freight train No 2644 about 7 PM. The truck was demolished but Mr Stahley escaped unharmed.
