Corner Stone for Library Dedication in Goshen
The corner stone for Goshen’s Carnegie library at Fifth and Washington streets will be laid tomorrow morning with no public ceremony due to weather. A brass tablet marking Carnegie’s gift of 25 000 dollars will be placed later, alongside deposits including a bible and local documents. The Goshen Library Association traces its origins to 1890 1895 and 1900 with key figures Mrs C E Rogers F D Finney and I O Wood guiding the drive to establish a free public library aided by Carnegie’s donation placed after passage of the Indiana library law.
