Supt Hedgepeth of the public schools left for Indianapolis this afternoon to attend the State Teachers Association meeting. Man sentenced to life for killing Marshal Payne

In Alexandria a man sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting Marshal Payne faced execution by hanging but the prisoner attempted suicide, prompting rescue before New Year's. A military ball is planned for March at the hall with a special gay evening.

Pretty Evening Wedding Between Crips and Kindle

LeRoy E. Cripe son of C R Cripe of East Lincoln avenue and Nettie Kindle daughter of H W Kindle of Goshen were married Saturday at 8 pm by Rev Levi Hoke of the German Baptist Church in the company of about 25 relatives. They will reside in Chicago after spending the evening with friends and Cripe has worked with Parsons Carriage Company for two years.

Power Plant Failure Delays Indiana Interurban Trains

Pumps at the Dunlaps power plant of the Indiana Railway company broke down last evening causing major delays. The interurban car due to leave at 5 30 did not arrive until about 7 and many passengers were disappointed. At Lake Shore station eight or ten people hoped to catch No 23 from Goshen at 5 41 but it did not arrive until 7 10.
