Joseph Hilbish age 78 died yesterday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs Frank J. Cripe 205 River Avenue after a short illness. Surviving are two daughters Mrs Cripe and Mrs Sylvester of Goshen one brother Nathan Hilbish four miles east of Benton and two sisters Mrs Hannah Bloss near Bristol and Mrs Leah Kiersey near Petoskey Mich He was born Oct 9 1837 much of his life was spent at Benton His wife died there 25 years ago funeral services will be held at 1230 p m tomorrow officiating by Revs Taylor Goshen and Walbrecht Benton Interment in Jackson Cemetery west of Benton.
A crowded traction car on the CS B&N I line last night caused trouble for crew and passengers with a near riot. The Goshen 7 30 p m train ran late and reached a chart after 9 p m. Twice as many people rode the couch as allowed. Some men refused to pay fare and the crew tried to eject them. One man was ejected, others resisted. Surviving: wife and two sons. Clark Edward F., 63, died in General hospital Elkhart Christmas from pneumonia. Surviving: one son and one brother. Cherry infant daughter of Co. BO Cherry died in Elkhart. Parents and one sister survive.
Miss Magdalena Keipp daughter of Valentine Keipp of Long Beach Calif and Charles B Wheeler of South Bend were married at 430 PM Christmas Day at the bride's sister Mrs Co B Bloom home in South Bend. Rev Albert Keck officiated in the presence of relatives and friends. The couple will live in South Bend where Wheeler is a Studebaker auto department inspector. Witnesses included Mr and Mrs Burt C Weyburn of Goshen and Mrs Weyburn, the bride's sister.
Oma L Bates daughter of Mr and Mrs George Bates and Gerald Rola son of Mr and Mrs Frank Rohn married at 10 am at St Mark's MLE parsonage by Rev J Cook Graham. They reside with the bride's parents and plan a North Side Goshen move next week. Groom works at Banta furniture factory.

Harry E Vernon hosted a stag party Christmas night on East Washington Street and Miss Goldie Brakes entertained Saturday at her South Sixth Street home with indications of a large attendance.
James J. Arisman former Goshen resident died on his claim near Harve Montana Surviving is his daughter Mrs Charles Singer of Cando North Dakota The body was taken to Cando for burial Mrs Arisman died six years ago at Devil s Lake North Dakota Her remains were interred at Cando.
