Judge Vanfleet Dies After Illness at 66 in Elkhart
Judge John M. Vanfleet, Elkhart circuit judge 1888 to 1894 and Goshen resident in the sixties, died at his Elkhart home after a several day illness from fever and unknown poisoning. He was 66, survived by his wife and two sons Vernon and George. buried with G A R post responsible for burial. He authored two law volumes and helped draft the Superior Court bill.
