Will of Elkhart Woman Dorothea Beer Filed After Fatal Kerosene Fire
The last will of Dorothea Beer of Elkhart, burned in a kerosene explosion, was filed with Probate Commissioner Farrell. Executed June 13, 1901, it names Frank Reinhart as administrator, bonds $2,500, and details charitable bequests to Evangelical associations and individuals including Maria Fuhrer nee Beer. The estate’s value is unknown, with the remainder to William Beer. Sheriff-elect Elmer Manning eyed Ellanan W. Hess as deputy, while Deputy Chatten plans spring retirement. Judge Ferrall remains seriously ill. court adjourns to Jan. 5 with trial of Dr. Harry Gulmyer set.

West Minstrels Manager Improves After Illness
S. A. Ricaby, manager of the West Minstrels, has shown improvement at the Hascall Hotel after a serious illness following the troupe's disbanding. Mil ford man loses watch chain in Chicago pickpocket incident
Thomas Rohrer of Milford, known in the city, visited Chicago friends and was pickpocketed on his way to the depot. The thief grabbed his watch chain, breaking the chain from the watch and buttonhole bar, leaving Rohrer with only his ticket. The chain valued around $10 was a cherished gift. The thief escaped before a policeman appeared.
