Man Loses Hand Working Corn Shredder Near Goshen
George Bainter, 2 percent, living two and a half miles west of Goshen and employed by Morris Fryman, suffered a severe injury at the David Gorsuch farm when his right hand was caught in a corn shredding cog wheel. Four fingers were mangled and the hand amputated at Goshen hospital. Dr. E E. Ash attended. Bainter, with wife and infant, was reported to be recovering that afternoon.

Miss Melle Cowan age 88, of Chicago formerly of Goshen, died at the home of her second cousin Mrs. E K Hickok in Chicago of old age. She left Goshen about 23 years ago and was a cousin of Mrs. Jane Messick of Chicago. The body was interred in Chicago at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
