Demarest Named Receiver for Consolidated Paper & Bag Co

Melvin A. Demarest of Elkhart was appointed receiver of the Consolidated Paper & Bag Co with a $25,000 bond. Foreclosure suits against the firm involve a $69,000 mortgage secured by gold bonds at 6 percent to 1917. Several mechanic liens are filed against the company, including claims from National Mfg Co and Dodge Mfg Co, with various judgments requested.

Young Man Found Drunk In Street Near West Washington

A young man in a badly intoxicated state was found at 8? oclock in front of Mrs. Mattie Starrs residence on West Washington Street. He said his leg hurt and he was taken to a nearby house. He admitted buying whiskey at a drug store but denied drinking earlier. He created a disturbance at the Indiana Railway station and mentioned a local businessmans name. An officer was summoned.

Renowned Elkhart Minister Rev Albert Expires at Home

Rev Albert, a well known Evangelical minister from Elkhart, died at his home last night after a period of pneumonia illness. He had returned from Decatur where he preached last Tuesday, leaving him unable to leave his residence. He leaves a widow and three children. He had been on the retired list due to ill health and recently accepted local preaching assignments before his decline.
