Major General Crozier testified before a Senate committee that delays in machine gun tests were the fault of Secretary of War Baker who conducted the tests. Mrs Martha A Manning 73 widow of William F Manning died yesterday at her home north of Elkhart from complications of diseases. She leaves a daughter two sons and a sister as survivors.
Cecilia Gilowski, a month old daughter of John Gilowski, was found dead at the home. The baby, survived by four sisters and the parents, showed signs of heart weakness at times. the coroner noted the child had grown strong since birth other than occasional heart weakness.
Willowdale stock barn owned by Chicago theatrical manager W. J. Davis at Crown Point burned, valued at 1500 dollars. All stock saved except Strongewelle the racing stallion. Overheated stove in the manager's room started the blaze. Davis previously lived in Elkhart and Warsaw.
Frank Barnhart a deputy U S marshal resigns to become superintendent of Vandalia Coal Co. mine at Farmersburg Indiana. His resignation takes effect next Monday and he will be replaced by C E Whicker of Fort Wayne Indiana.
Ollie Bridges of Mishawaka obtained a divorce from Bertha M Bridges whom he wed at age 18 ten years ago in South Bend. Bertha Bridges filed a cross complaint claiming she was abandoned often and kept in the dark about his whereabouts all night.
Elvin Velmer arrived from Goshen to work on the N Y C section and suffered frostbite to both ears. He was admitted to General hospital for treatment.
August Michaels hanged himself in the Porter village jail while held on a breaking jail charge from Chicago Heights. He was 54, survived by a widow and four daughters. His father died by suicide 12 years earlier in Chesterton.
Mr and Mrs Jacob Webber with kin in Columbus Indiana lost all possessions in the Halifax disaster. Their children are missing and believed dead.

J. Snyder aged 53 died in Washington Park hospital Chicago shortly after an operation. His body will be returned to Nappanee his home for burial. He is survived by his wife four sons and one daughter Mrs Geo Fox of near Leesburg. Funeral at North Main street Mennonite church Nappanee with interment in Union Center cemetery.
Alpheus Guy aged 67 died suddenly at his home four miles southwest of Warsaw from a heart ailment. He had just finished work and collapsed while reaching for a telephone. Survived by his wife two daughters six sisters including Mrs Eli Griffon of Syracuse and two brothers.
Fay W. Weaver and Miss Helen M. Brandon of Elkhart were married at the First M E Church in Mishawaka by Rev. B E Parker. They will reside in Elkhart.
