Mrs Juliette Bowers mother of C G Bowers editor of the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette was killed in a fall in her Washington apartment. The body will be interred in Indiana polis or Terre Haute.
Mrs Julia A Cushing aged 77 longtime Kendallville resident died at Easthaven Hospital for the Insane in Richmond where she had been a patient for seven years. She was a sister of Mrs George Gondering of Elkhart.

Discovered about one o'clock, three alarms from box 31 fought flames that charred the roof and second floor, destroying much contents despite frigid conditions. Niles resident Nin Nolan of South Bend was found dead in a rooming house this morning from gas asphyxiation. The owner detected a strong odor, police were notified, and a pulmotor was used but he was dead. A small gas stove was found lit. three brothers survive.
