William Blair Dies by His Own Hand Near Shipshewana
William Blair a 20 year old bachelor long known around Shipshewana and White Pigeon hanged himself in his brother Abe Blairt’s barn six miles north of Shipshewana on Saturday afternoon. The body was found about 4 30 p m by the brother entering to feed stock. Despondency due to drink is blamed. Blair had traveled to White Pigeon that morning to obtain the rope. He leaves two brothers and is recalled with the earlier death of his father Thomas Blair, gored by a bull 13 years ago.
